Wusthof Knife Holder
A Wusthof knife holder is a very practical and resistant
utensil you can buy to store your knives and other cutting utensils. Wusthof has been making forged knives for
chefs for many years. Each knife goes through several different processes until it is perfectly balanced and
sharpened by a computer.
Wusthok makes holders for their knives too; in fact they can be
used with any knife. Several types are available for you chose from. The first one is an individual sheath for each
knife; these are used mostly by chefs who carry their knives around with them.
Another is a magnet knife holder. This holder is placed on the
kitchen wall where your knives are within easy reach while cooking. They are made of stainless steel and the magnet
converts the whole thing into a magnet so your knives will stick anywhere on the surface. Others made with wood or
plastic require that you place the knife exactly on the magnet for it to stick in place.
A wooden drawer model is also available. It is designed with
slots to put the knife blades into. This not only protects the blades but your fingers when searching for a
specific knife in the drawer. They are divided in such a way that large knives are separated from smaller knives
which allows you to pick a knife quickly and without having to look for it.
These are found in two models, the first can hold up to seven
large knives and the second holds fourteen including knives of different sizes. Either holder will fit comfortably
in your kitchen drawer or you can even use two of them in the same drawer. Their design is compact because the
knives are set in lines located one on top of the other.
Another Wusthof knife holder model is designed for use on the
kitchen counter. It is a block of wood with slots on the top side where the knives are set. This is probably the
most practical model available; it allows you to take all your knives along with you when you move around the
kitchen. The slots on the block have been made in descending order; large knives go on top and smaller knives all
the way to the bottom. This order allows for the most used knives to be closer at hand when you need
them.
